After conducting a field survey at Nguyen Thanh Son road embankment (Binh Khanh ward); Ngo Quyen road embankment (My Binh ward); section of group 44, Binh Duc 4 hamlet; section from Can Xay ferry to the end of the landslide warning area (Binh Duc ward); the first section of My Thuan hamlet islet, My Khanh and Pho Ba islet (My Hoa Hung commune); Cai San canal (My Thanh ward),accordingly, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province Nguyen Duc Duy suggested that the People's Committee of Long Xuyen city should coordinate with relevant provincial departments and branches to urgently report to the Provincial People's Committee to mobilize capital from the province and the Central Government to support investment in the construction of solid embankments in these areas. In particular, it is necessary to classify urgent projects, to prioritize implementation in the earliest time for Nguyen Thanh Son road embankment (Binh Khanh ward) and Ngo Quyen road embankment (My Binh ward);and for the remaining areas it is essential to continue to propose capital recorded for implementation in the period of 2026-2030.

According to statistics, Long Xuyen City Construction Investment Project Management Board is currently operating the procedure files to implement 3 projects including Embankment to prevent landslides on the Hau River bank to protect Long Xuyen City (Nguyen Thai Hoc bridge section); overcoming landslides on the southern bank of Cai Sao canal in the area of Group 15 and Group 17 (Trung Hung hamlet, My Thoi ward). At the same time, the City People's Committee proposed the Provincial People's Committee and the Central Government to support capital for 17 projects including embankment of Nguyen Thanh Son Street (Binh Khanh ward); embankment of Ngo Quyen Street (My Binh ward); section of Group 44, Binh Duc 4 hamlet; reinforcing the slope from Can Xay ferry to the end of the landslide warning area (Binh Duc ward); landslide section of Pho Que hamlet, Group 5, Hau River Bank area (My Long ward); the section from Cai San bridge to Nam Su canal (group 16, Thoi Hoa hamlet) and the remaining section of the Cai San canal emergency landslide repair project (section from Viet Hung factory to Muong Thom canal)...
While waiting for the solution and instructions from the relevant authorities, the City People's Committee directed the city's specialized departments and the People's Committees of wards and communes to strengthen information and propaganda work among the people extensively, at the same time, to string up ropes, erect barriers at landslide locations, install signs and warning lights, reduce traffic congestion, etc. to contribute to ensuring the safety of people's lives and property./.
