(AG Provincial E-Portal) - On the afternoon of September 17, the Party Committee, Government and People of An Giang province held a ceremony to receive resources and send a delegation to deliver relief goods to people in the Northern provinces affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi).

Attending the event were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Le Van Nung; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province, Head of the Propaganda and Training Commission of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Tran Thi Thanh Huong; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Internal Affairs Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tiec Hung; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province Dang Thi Hoa Ray; Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Council Dinh Thi Viet Huynh; Deputy Head of the Mass Mobilization Department of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Ngoc; and leaders of socio-political organizations of An Giang Province.

Accordingly, responding to the call for all people to participate in contributing to support people in provinces and cities affected by storms and floods by the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Standing Committee, at the ceremony, the Provincial Relief Mobilization Commission continued to receive contributions from companies, businesses, and religious organizations to support people in provinces and cities affected by storms and floods.

At the ceremony, the Party Committee, Government and People of An Giang province organized the transfer of more than 65 tons of relief goods in the first phase to Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces, including essential goods such as: rice, bottled drinking water, fish sauce, medical supplies, cakes, mosquito nets, life jackets, milk..., with a total value of nearly 4 billion VND, contributed by businesses and people in An Giang. The working trip was assigned by the Provincial Party Standing Committee to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Standing Committee to chair, in coordination with Sao Mai Group Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang Province Dang Thi Hoa Ray said: Immediately after the guidelines of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, on September 10, 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province advanced 500 million VND and deposited it in 5 provinces into the account of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. After that, the Appeal for Relief for the people of the Northern provinces has been released. After 1 week of launching, with the joint hearts to compatriots of the whole country, the Party Committee, the mobilized amount from the Government and People of An Giang to the afternoon of September 16, 2024 has reached over 10 billion VND; of which cash contribution is 6.294 billion VND and goods converted to money is over 4 billion VND. It is expected that 14 billion VND will be transferred to 14 heavily affected provinces. The remaining amount after the end of October 15 will be deposited into the account of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

This is a noble gesture, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and mutual assistance of our people. At the same time, she reminded the working group and volunteers to ensure absolute safety throughout the trip, bringing the love and sharing of the Party Committee and the people of An Giang to the people of the Northern provinces affected by storms and floods.

In recent days, the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province has welcomed organizations, businesses, people, students... who contributed goods and money for people affected by natural disasters in the Northern provinces.

This is the first shipment of goods with the meaning of expressing responsibility, national sentiment, compatriotism, love, support, and sharing the losses from the Party Committee and People of An Giang province towards the people of the provinces devastated by storms and floods./.
